McCain op-ed rejected from New York Times for too many "ape rape" jokes

This week, the New York Times rejected an essay by presidential nominee Senator John McCain for its Op-Ed section. Times editor David Shipley said that, as submitted, the essay did not meet the standards of the New York Times, and that he would be "happy to take another look" at a new draft. Senator McCain's camp later released the original essay as he attended a fund raiser and press conference with former President George H. Bush at the latter's Kennebunkport home.

23/6 presents their meeting, in extremely summarized photocomic form.
