McCain pal apologizes to Great Whore's pimp
Israel's greatest friend since Abraham, James Hagee.
Earlier this week, evangelical Christian minister and McCain supporter James Hagee sent a letter to Bill Donohue of the Catholic League, apologizing for comments he made about the Catholic Church. Hagee angered Catholics by calling the church, among other things, "the Great Whore." McCain has been under pressure to renounce Hagee after the Rev. Wright controversy.
Donohue accepted the apology, saying, "I got what I wanted. He's seen the light, as they like to say. So for me it's over."
Not so fast, Bill. 23/6 got a hold of the first draft of Hagee's letter and he clearly did not go down without a fight. Thank heavens a copyeditor from his Texas "mega-church" intervened:
