Bush: hitting a ball and senseless death not compatible
The War President.
Contrary to the belief that the Iraq war doesn't seem to weigh very heavily on President Bush, in an interview with Politico this week Bush made it clear that honoring those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for his war has placed a very heavy burden on him. So great, in fact, that in deference to the families of the fallen Bush has decided to stop lying about starting it, arrogantly mismanaging it, firing anybody who recognizes the reality of the debacle, and refusing to bring their sons and daughters home playing golf.
Yes, said Bush, "I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal." And he's not alone. As Bush has reminded us, he's a "war president," and he's simply in following the footsteps of the other war presidents who came before him.
You won't see it in the history books, but here's a look at what other war presidents have given up in times of conflict.
