In the beginning, there was Paul Verhoeven's word, and it is probably not good

It's the side of Jesus he doesn't want you to know about. Or something like that. Apparently Paul Verhoeven, director of "Basic Instinct," "RoboCop," and "Total Recall," is coming out with his own biography of Jesus entitled "Jesus of Nazareth: A Realistic Portrait." Part of Verhoeven's version is the idea that Jesus was not delivered via virgin birth, but was the result of Mary being raped by a Roman soldier.
The publisher says that the book will serve as a springboard for a film along the same lines. So what will the Gospel According to the Director of "Showgirls" look like? 23/6 brings you a preview.
