Al-Qaeda's No. 2 drops a hot new solo project
Ayman al-Zawahiri doesn't care if you thought his SXSW set was uneven.
Al-Qaeda's marginally less smug version of Dick Cheney, Ayman al-Zawahiri, released a new audio tape this week, urging Muslims to wave their hands in the air (with machine guns). The almost five-minute long message urges followers to strike Jewish and American targets, in revenge for Israel's recent military offensive in the Gaza Strip (i.e. not just for fun).
Last week, Osama bin Laden goaded his faithful to free the Palestinian Territories, leading anti-terrorism specialists to wonder if al-Qaeda's planning something big.
Who cares? The real question is: what do the world's most discerning indie critics think of the tape, and did it get a higher score than Radiohead's "In Rainbows"?
