Gloria Steinem "helping" another presidential candidate.

Hillary Clinton supporter Gloria Steinem made headlines at a rally in Austin on Sunday when she mocked John McCain's POW experience, "This is supposed to be a qualification to be president? I don't think so." The Clinton campaign immediately distanced itself from her comments, which were reported in the New York Observer:

Senator Clinton has repeatedly praised Senator McCain's courage and service to our country. These comments certainly do not represent her thinking in any way.

Support from an idealist like Gloria Steinem can be tricky for a candidate with an eye on the general election. We have one question for Team Clinton: At what point in the Observer article did you realize that an albatross was dangling from your neck? Our news markup tells all.
