Baghdad's fortified Green Zone has become a mecca for contractors seeking high paying jobs. While controversial companies like Blackwater get most of the attention, franchises like Burger King, Subway and Pizza Hut are also employing thousands of workers in Iraq. Many of the fast food folk hail from third world countries with little or no job opportunities. Said one Latin American contractor on jobbing in a war zone, "I don't have to pay for food, rent, [or] clothing."
