Saddam Hussein faked having WMDs in order to avoid an attack by Iran, according to the FBI agent assigned to guard him. Agent George Piro also said Hussein was surprised by the American invasion, noting, "He thought the United States would retaliate with the same type of attack as we did in 1998 ... a four-day aerial attack."
