Unemployed Blackwater guards just "in between" shootings

Blackwater chairman Erik Prince prepares for a new career as a professional testifier.

Back in 2002, Blackwater Worldwide was a private security company on the rise. From its meager beginnings in North Carolina, Blackwater grew into a security monolith, with high profile contracts all over the world. But after a few unfortunate accidents, such as the shooting death of 17 civilians in Baghdad, the company now finds itself facing scrutiny from Congress, the Justice Department, the State Depatment, and more terrified Iraqis peeking out from under their beds.

Can Blackwater continue winning high-profile government jobs despite the taint of its mistakes? With plenty of competition from other private firms, the security contractor may soon need to start thinking in terms of smaller, more manageable gigs.
