Today's Sign of the Apocalypse: The Celtics Win |
My new book, Apocalypse How, is about how the world is about to end...and why we should be psyched! It's the first-ever work of apocalyptic literature that "accentuates the positive"--and teaches you how to not just survive, but thrive. As with any exciting new endeavor, however, the key to thriving in a post-apocalyptic world is PREPARATION. In that spirit, I'll be alerting you whenever I spot a sign of our impending doom--or should I say, your impending opportunity!
SIGN: Boston Celtics land epic 97-92 win over Cleveland Cavaliers to advance to Eastern Conference finals.
WHY THAT'S A SIGN: Crediting "the ghost of [former Celtics coach] Red [Auerbach]...that guided that ball in," long-beleaguered forward Paul Pierce outplays Lebron "King James" to cinch up this seventh game. Ie: A persecuted man named Paul, filled with the Spirit, finishes off the Bible in a 7th seal. Do we have to spell it out?
WHAT TO EXPECT: The Ghost of Auerbach - known for his commitment to teamwork - "fast breaks" a reign of apocalyptic destruction over Boston's next opponent, Detroit.
WHY THAT'S GREAT NEWS: It's Detroit - no one notices.
Daily Show writer Rob Kutner's Apocalypse How is available in stores, or online here. Rob Kutner will be reading from and signing copies of Apocalypse How in Boston tonight (Pandemonium Books, 4 Pleasant St, Cambridge - 7pm).
