Well, we've finally done it. Governor Spitzer was brought down by a Girl Gone Wild. That's the end of the game folks. In the American experiment that's the part where the characters march out to a funny tune and thank you for playing. We knew it would happen eventually. The most vapid, meaningless, base, filth in our society officially has dominance over what should be one of the most respected and powerful positions of the land. I'm not saying Spitzer was the best governor ever. I'm saying leading the second largest economy in the nation should be a position of stature and it is now a pawn to "Girls Gone Wild."
Apparently Spitzer's call girl was indeed on "Girls Gone Wild" at some point. Just so we're all on the same level here, do we all see what exactly a girl gone wild is? A girl gone wild is an 18-year-old (maybe) who doesn't understand the power of a Long Island ice tea on spring break with 12 vacant alcohol funnels that she considers "friends." She then stumbles into a morally bankrupt producer who understands all too well the power of a Long Island ice tea. He gets her to sign her misspelled name on some paperwork because she thinks her titties will make her a STAR!! That video is then packaged and sold at two AM to a 45-year-old trying to fill a void in his life created because the babysitter refuses to take her shirt off for him.
THAT girl. THAT girl who thought what happens in Cancun should be broadcast across the nation. THAT girl whose crowning achievement in life SHOULD have been winning the at-home prize one day during Regis & Kelly. THAT girl brought down the governor of the capital of the world. It's like the NATO Supreme Allied Commander being destroyed by an American Idol reject. It's like Kim Jong Il being taken down in a bloodless coup staged by his Furbie.
It's kind of appropriate isn't it? It's a metaphor for the current state of our union. Let's just elect Fergie president and be done with it.
