Introductions to the First Presidential Debate of 2008

Jacob Dickerman | Bio

McCain: First off, I want to talk about me. I'm old. My face has been smoothed over with over fourteen hundred pounds of make-up.

Leher: I too am covered in make-up. How about that economy?

Obama: My face is naturally beautiful. The economy-- not my fault. I am the future.

McCain: I hung out with Eisenhower. Failure is rewarded!! (King gives a point)

Obama: He's copying me. And I'm young and healthy.

Leher: Talk to John, Barack. Does he understand you? Tell him how you feel.

Obama: Hi, John.

McCain: I don't want to talk to him.

Obama: I vow to spend half of all my responses responding to what he says about me.

McCain: And I appreciate it.
