I need to start off by admitting something. Randi Rhodes is god awful. It's not an opinion, if you disagree with me, you're simply wrong. We hate Rush Limbaugh, but we tend to forget, or maybe we just don't want to remember, that what makes Rush wrong is not his message. Sure, it's abhorrent to me, and probably to you too, but this is America and he's got a right to his myopic views. What's awful about Rush is how he PRESENTS his message. It's hateful, it's bullheaded, and it's annoying to absolutely everyone who isn't a fan of Rush Limbaugh, meaning it's annoying to 99% of the planet. Randi Rhodes is the left's answer to Rush, and frankly, I wish no one had ever asked the damn question. She's pedantic. She's hateful to anyone with a contrary view-point. She's also boring to listen to and tends to make her arguments by attacking her opponents rather than espousing on why she's right. Outside of all that, her voice makes me want to claw my ears out. I guess what I'm trying to say is, Air America had a perfectly good reason to get rid of Randi Rhodes, but instead they decided to be idiots and do it all wrong.

Air America: you suck. You're not free-speech radio, and you have nothing to be proud of. You're talk radio for people who share your views. You're the Fox News of liberal radio, but I thought that you actually cared about liberal values, like protecting the first amendment of the fucking constitution. Was Randi being horrible by suddenly just saying Hillary Clinton was a whore, just because she likes Barack Obama? Sure. But it's also just because Randi Rhodes is a person who doesn't seem to be able to form an opinion without attacking someone. God damn you, Air America for forcing me to defend Randi Rhodes. It's not acceptable. This is the same shit she does every day, she didn't even say it on the air. You can't take her off just for saying something in public without coming out and admitting, "Our radio hosts do not have their rights to free speech." Shame on you for being fascist motherfuckers.

We can't put limits on free speech, even the garbage that hateful bigots espouse. That's the way the damn country works. I'm a Jew, and if I want to support free speech, I have to give Nazi assholes the right to say what they want about me and how I'm Satan's spawn and all that damn garbage. You know what? Free speech makes things hard, but I'm glad it's there. Because those bastard Nazis who should all have their balls kicked up into their stomachs, yeah, they've got the right to say "Jews should burn and die" in whatever forum they're able to. Because that's how it works. That's the damn deal. You're not inciting violence just by putting out your stupid opinion, and you're not forcing anyone to listen to you.

So: Randi Rhodes, I'm not unhappy you're off the air. There's not a single part of me that doesn't rejoice to know that your annoying voice will no longer be playing in radios across the country. I think you suck. However, Air America, you're a bunch of bastards for taking her off the air. Because she's got her right to say what she wants to in her spare time. She didn't say what she said on the air, she didn't effect how people see your tiny little on life-support station; she just effected how people see her. God damn it, you both suck and I can only hope that Air America fixes their mistake by letting Randi back on the air in time that she can be employed there when the station collapses into Radio Hell.
