I Know an Old Party |
I know an Old Party that swallowed a war,
Don't know what for, they swallowed the war.
Nobody's sure.
I know an Old Party that had a Decider,
A fighter, uniter, and NOT a divider!
They followed the Decider,
That swallowed the war,
Though still not sure, why they swallowed the war,
Don't care anymore.
I know an Old Party that swallowed a flag.
Loved to brag, how they followed the flag...
They swallowed the flag,
That roused the people,
That freed-up the money,
That financed the races,
That elected the leaders,
That packed the courts,
That scored the ballots,
That wriggled and jiggled and tickled their wallets!
They swallowed the flag,
That swallowed the debt,
That swallowed the Decider,
That swallowed the war,
Three years or four, how long is the war...
Maybe 10 more?
I know an Old Party that swallowed itself.
Round in a circle it followed itself.
It swallowed the donors,
That paid the bucks,
That bought the access,
That changed the laws,
That helped the companies,
That sold the gas,
That caused the crisis,
By bubbling and troubling and doubling in prices!
They bowed to the oil,
That banked the regimes,
That winked at the crazies,
That exploded the bombs,
That killed the troops,
That fought for their flag,
That swallowed the debt,
That followed the Decider,
That hallowed the war,
Though still not sure, why they swallowed the war.
Maybe Al Gore?
I know an Old Party that used to be Grand.
Stuck in the sand.
