Thanks Writers' Strike!

Georgia Van Cuylenburg | Bio

A few people (especially writers on cable shows) are claiming that the Writers Strike achieved nothing. To those skeptics I say "nay!" I have learnt some amazing money saving ideas since the strike started. And in honor of the writers I will share these tips with you...so you will be well prepared for the actors' strike:

- If you only have a Starbucks coffee every second day your body still works.
- The free pickles at Jerry deli make a great meal, slightly vinegary but very nutritious!
- If you wait till you are at a café or friends house to use the bathroom you will save a lot of money on toilet paper (and water).
- Don't spend money washing your car just wait till you get gas--those window washers do a great job on the whole car.
- And water works nearly as well as coolant!
- Recycling bottles is fun and all you need is 7 bottles for an hour of parking on Sunset Blvd.
- DIY mani-pedis can be a lot of fun especially when you are watching all those reruns!!
- The sun shines 98% of the time in LA, quit your gym.
- Eating grapes while you walk the isles of the grocery store is fun and if you are in the store for more than 20 minutes that totally passes for a meal.
- And shopping at the farmers market is a great money saver too--if you sample the fruit at every stand you won't need lunch!
- Single men: Only date women who stand for equal rights--and when it comes to the bill--you wouldn't want to offend her by paying it!
- Single women: Only date men who open the car door for you and pull out your chair--they will pay the bill.
