This Tuesday a city councilman in Los Angeles introduced a resolution to make it illegal for residents of the nation's second-largest city to use the N word.

As a foreigner who was brought up to believe that everyone was made equal--except aborigines--I find it so hard to understand all these cans and cannots of the races. But I learned early on what a mistake it was for a young blond to use the N word.

But illegal? Illegal to use a word? Now I am in no way racist--some of my best friends are Jewish--but really???

If using the N word becomes a crime then every single person above the age of four living within 10 miles of south central LA is a felon! Will cops start paying residents of Compton to tip their buddies off--N$%#&r please?!

And if we get to ban the use of words because of the offense they cause certain races then I want to ban the use of the F word in the presence of Australians. Fucking Fosters.
