Women Who Frequent Hotels

Duncan Quirk | Bio

In a major blow to crazy religious doctrine, women will now be allowed to check into hotels on their own in Saudi Arabia. The royal decree will no doubt lead to trouble as more and more women will be left on their own. If a woman is raped after checking herself into a hotel room, where are they going to find the four witnesses required to punish the rapist? Without her guardians or relatives there to witness it, how can the authorities know if she's telling the truth, let alone who raped her?

Who would gain from this? Women who frequent hotels on their own that's who. But what are these women doing checking themselves into hotels so often without their guardians? Are they doing something that they don't want their guardians to see? For all we know these women are wearing knee-high burkas, drinking caffeinated beverages, and listening to rap music. Some might see these as harmless activities, but do not be fooled, these are gateway activities which can lead to even more illicit acts such as dancing and sunbathing.

It's a downright shame that King Abdullah is doing this to his country, but at least car enthusiasts can drive safely with peace of mind, knowing that at least one of the laws laid down centuries ago is still enforced and women are forbidden to drive.
