Dear 2008 Primaries,
I hate to do this, but we have to talk. When we first met it was exciting and new--you opened me up to so many new experiences with so many new people. (I'd never done this with a woman or a black man before--much less at the same time.) But over this past year things have grown stale; our worlds have grown smaller and our relationship predictable. It's not you it's me, I've been having feelings for the general election for a while now, and it's not fair to either of us to keep going the way we are now. I have to move on, WE have to move on.
That night in February was amazing--going for hours, with all those people watching--I've never been so excited. I wanted it to last forever...actually maybe it has. I no longer look forward to our meetings, I no longer wait up for you, and I've been drinking a lot every time we're supposed to spend the night together.
This is so hard, I never wanted it to end like this. I still care about you a lot, but I don't see how a trip to West Virginia can help. My feelings for you may never fade completely, but we can't go on this way; it's not healthy. The longer we do this the harder it will be to end, so I think it's best to make a clean break now rather than end up resenting each other in a few months.
Best wishes,
Alex Leo

Don't worry Ted Kennedy was over three hundred delegates behind and he went to the convention to challenge a sitting Democratic President and he is still going twenty five years later.Hillary is strengthening her base in the party like Ted did that many years ago. And the liberals who want Hillary to quit encouraged Ted to continue. So don't worry Alex, the middle of the party will remember her courage when the liberals have long deserted us.
